JTPA Thought Me to Keep A Side Hustle

Looking back at my experience with the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) during my 9th and 10th grade summers I was preparing for the current 21st-century dysfunctional economy and an educational system that requires me to keep a side hustle. Just to be clear the college education is not the problem. Sadly, the American economy and educational systems have failed to keep pace with each other requiring college graduates to keep a side hustle if we want to afford necessities like rent and food.

Part-time Jobs for the Unemployed

As I was leaving the grocery store this week, I was reminded about one of the part-time jobs I held while I searched for a full-time job when I saw the green Instacart freezer and refrigerator on my way to the car. Instacart is a grocery delivery service that I learned about from one of my students. I don't think it was a coincidence that she randomly came into my office that day when she told me about this part-time job making $25 an hour with flexible hours. The Bold College Graduate

I've secretly been working on Twin TS for a while. I will admit I did not know it took so much to be a small business owner. I only wanted to share my story, make some bad-ass thought provoking t-shirts and make a difference in the lives of people I know can relate to the college struggle. Do you want a job or not?

I am in the process of hiring staff for this project I have been charged with running. Considering that I am newly re-employed, I am so excited about this opportunity to be able to give someone like me who may be unemployed, underemployed or in the wrong job a job. As I review applications to determine which candidates seem to have the qualifications I'm looking for to help me build a strong team and share some of the responsibilities I have, I see applicants that lack experience, applicants that have invested in their education but have not been able to use that education to get a better job, applicants that are looking to relocate to Houston, and applicants looking to get...

Thankfully tired

I have thought about what I wanted to blog about on this site for quite some time, so much so that I failed to type one single pixel until now. I am pretty sure I was overthinking this blog thing. Now that I think about it, this is kind of like my public diary that I am able to share with the entire world. Cool! I will try my best watch my language but I cannot make any promises because sometimes cuss words just slip out. I have this fear of not knowing what to say and I ALWAYS have something to say. Then there is just me being too lazy to want to think about grammar and all of...
